Very sad experience

ULTA is no longer a decent co.

They havent been for more than a decade. It's become a self service (or self serving, for the staff) kind of store. Stylists who ignore instrutions, staff who fail to acknowledge that you've arrived, shelves not stocked, and very, very LONG lines at the register. Every time. Things like this along with a customer 'dis-service' dept that doesn't care that an employee disrespects customers or refuses to even acknowledge there was an issue. Between the expenses involved in shopping at ulta and and the attitudes of these girls who work there... I dont need the hassle. Bye, bye...

Not so well

I went in looking to change to a different type of foundation.. I use Lancôme and am looking to use Giorgio Armani.. I asked for a sample, as they’ve give me one before.. I asked a lady there working for a sample so I could take home and compare and she tells me “we don’t give out samples” I went on to Sephora to get a sample from there and ended up buying their foundation.. I was so disappointed I used to always get my Anastasia products from there but I was so displeased with their answer.. sorry Ulta

Oh well Mario Badescu

I went into Ulta Beauty to buy some rosewater spray. I choose the Mario Badescu brand.

I noticed signs that said try this and get a free gift or try this from Mario and get a bag with samples. I spent 20 min reading which trial kit I wanted to try. I get to the register and I mentioned my free gift from Mario, the sales person was super short with me. Oh let me look, oh we have no more.

Do you want it? I said no and where is the manager. she then said oh I will look again. Without all the small details.

I received bad customer experience and was not able to try the Mario skin care brand.

I really would like to be more detailed about this experience, I am going to choose the high road. oh well Mario really wanted to try your skin care line but a lady at the register didn’t care that I put it back over so Simple samples.

If I go in there with a free gift coupon & they have run out, they usually give me sonething different which I appreciate because it's a gift. But I'm always pleasant & respectful to ALL employees!

I don't just start screaming for a manager. No, no.

As adults, we should know to use our inside voice. Being rotten never got anyone ANYWHERE!

Literally what part of WHILE SUPPLIES LAST don’t ppl get?? Putting something back cuz u didn’t get something free is kinda ridiculous if u ask me.

Frankly I’m shocked that not only did U put it back but u asked for a manager when it is posted on EVERY sign that it’s while supplies last. They can’t give u something for free that they don’t hv.

Instead of coming here to b petty and write a review u should hv gone to the site and ordered it online where they hv way more stock of free gift w purchases. Grow up.

WORST COMPANY EVER-ULTA

Placed $171 order online that was never delivered- was told I need to call my bank and dispute the charge because they are not responsible once it leaves their warehouse. When I asked why the customer service lady blocked my email address so that I could not write back!!

I have spent so much money here over the years, from now on I will go to Sephora. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Also called and wrote their FB all with no help. Basically I'm out $171 and nobody is taking responsibility for it.

My bank said that is not the process that they should be telling us. Oh and the woman that blocked my email was a supposed "supervisor".

They sent you a tracking number to your e-mail. Get a hold of the company that delivered the package & have them trace it.

They can't call UPS for you because the person filing the claim has to speak with them. Ulta did their job by shipping you the order.

Cashier had the flu

Tried to tell management to send her home. They didn’t act concerned.

Said they would talk to her. I’m so upset. Called coorperate and they didn’t seem concerned either. Said they’d get back to me in 24 to 48 hours.

By that time she could have infected hundreds of people. She admitted she had a fever and is on meds. I explained to her that the flu medication she is on does not stop it’s spread just shortens the duration of the illness.

There have been several flu deaths in the area. I’m so mad no one took me seriously.

I had an customer get mad and angry at me because i was not able too return anything for for her, because she wanted an full price return onto her items that was onto sales and deals onto them, that she already bought. She was so mean and nasty too the manager and the employees into the department.

Agreed. I had too deal with so many entitled customers while i was working into an retail company.

One time i had an couple get mad and angry at me because they did not understand the rules and the policies too the store. I am also going too add, the other employees and the managers told this couple the same rules and the polices.

This couple had the nerve too try too start and fight with me and the other employees and managers into the front of the store. No employee or manager should go through this with entitled customers.

Having the flu doesn't guarantee you a sick day while working retail. I've even worked in large grocery stores that made me come in while I had the flu & a fever & refused to send me home early. What I usually hear from managers is "If you can walk, you can come in & do your job!"

They won’t send her home!!! Instead they will fire her. You just cost a poor sick mother her job because YOU saw fit to interject your opinion. Just because someone looks like spewing zombie doesn’t mean they are still infectious.

The cold and flu is normally most transmitable before more then a tickle in the nose/throat shows. Once you get to the point that you can walk around or stand after your fever breaks you’re normally not infectious. You may look awful because that’s what the cold and flu do to your body. Remember it wasn’t that long ago that both the common cold and influenza killed millions of people.

We have found ways to fight the symptoms and have a bit stronger resistance to them. But that doesn’t make her job easier. She has to show up to work sick or not. It’s on her to call in before her shift if she needs to call in sick.

It’s on local management to send her home. They ask her if she thinks she can do it and she said yes. Trust me no one likes being sick and no one wants to work while sick. You can bet that poor cashier dragged herself out of bed.

I feel sorry for her because I’ve seen what they do when someone like you has interjected themselves. It’s not pretty. It’s always the lowest employee, cashier/stocker who lose their jobs. If you really wanted to help why didn’t you go home and make her a giant mug of soup?

I guess your humanity and compassion extend only as far as yourself. I have taken an entire pot of chicken soup freshly made to a local store for the employees who have served my needs so well. Yes it took time and yes I could have made a scene about sick people at work but I didn’t. I did the HUMAN thing.

You know what happened? I now have a lot of friends there who swear by chicken soup! The point is you people need to start taking a more people centered position in situations. You think your some form of injustice fighter but your not.

You never think but a few steps ahead or beyond the situation and never realize that your simple complaint is now going to force them to fire someone who was just working thier way through life just like you.

They will fire her for making them look bad by working while sick. Even though it’s the same people who told her to come into work or else.

Right?? She was ONLY worried about herself getting sick, not the employee. Funny cause if she was SO worried, she would know not to shop in stores during flu season as all the counters & pin pads have been touched by sickly customers as well!

What’s funny is the OP is just a mouth breather who wants something for literally nothing. She KNOWS that by complaining she will get SOMETHING from them.

Never mind the fact that she has cost someone thier job. Never mind the fact that she couldn’t be human enough to CARE about anyone else. It’s just sickening to watch some people work thier way through life by brining misery and strife to innocent workers. I just got done bringing a crockpot to my local corner store for the employees.

A hot bowl of chili warms up those cold nights and they cleaned it before giving it back.

See it’s not hard to be a better human being. Just too much work for her.

Once Loyal Customer Out of $200.00 and Erased

I went to make a purchase of $72.02 and my card was declined with no reason. Called my bank and they checked my card, there was no reason for the decline. Yet not one, but three transactions showed up on my statement of $72.02 as "pending" at three times. Well, pending went thru and now I'm out $200.00 with no products because they had an IT issue that day and would not give me a "decline" receipt. When looking a back at their records, it was as if I was never there that day, that I never put my card in the reader, and that I was erased... EXCEPT I wasn't. I have proof that money was taken from my account thru THAT Ulta store. A video showing I walked out of the store with NOTHING. The store even admitted to me that there was an IT error and it was their fault but still wouldn't recompense my money. So now I have to wait 60 days to have a dispute claim settled. Ulta, I loved you. You were my go to and truly loved by me. But it breaks my heart to part ways. I feel betrayed. Every person I talked to admitted it was IT problems yet stated they couldn't do something for me. Because of YOUR issue, my bank record shows I refuted charges. Sincerely, A Once Loyal Customer

Preferred solution: Full refund with statement made in written for bank records that it was an IT probelm on ULTA. I do not want my record hindered because a mistake was not mine. I would like compensation for the trouble I had to go thru to retrieve proof of the error.

I placed an order online last night, and I then went to pay for it. Ulta then gave me the opportunity to apply for their credit card and upon approval they would discount todays purchase 20%. I was approved, and they discounted my purchase 20 %. I received an email this morning that my order was canceled with no explanation whatsoever. I called customer service to ask why my order was canceled, and I was told that I violated their policy in regards to the discount, and I wasn't allowed to make any puchases at ulta.com. First of all I didn't violate anything.....they offered a discount upon approval of the Ulta credit card, I accepted, I was approved, and they discounted my purchase, which was paid for with my Ulta account. Then they canceled it because I did something wrong, which is not the case. They made a mistake, and they need to honor my purchase. I'm really certain that this transaction falls under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and I'm going to file a complaint with the Attorney General. Avoid this place

To say the least this place is addicting and will get you to part with more money than you can afford to, not to mention that if you look on Glassdoor the employees have rated this place as being low paying, which would explain why I had so much trouble getting my credit card back from them the other day. Also, it's obvious that they don't provide any training beyond the cash register, for the most part.

if you're looking for advice, forget it.

You most definitely do not want to ask about tips on how to apply your makeup because every time I go in there these young ladies makeup is on way too heavy and their eyebrows are just plain scary, lol. Anyway after being a loyal customer for several years, they have shown no loyalty or appreciation to me and I was not expecting to be treated special but I was not expecting to be treated in such a way where I felt like I was in danger.

On November 25 ,2017 I was double charge $287 to my account. i have called and emailed them since then with the assurance they would credit my account.

It didn't happen! On December 28th they sent me an email stating they were going to have to mail me a check and with no explanation why. Today is January 5, 2018 and I called them to ask them where my check is. They told me it was mailed out on December 29, 2018 and that it would take 7-14 days to receive.

I said the mail isn't that slow but she assured me it had to go through yet another approval as well. 1 1/2 months is too long to receive a credit.

Makes me think I wont use my Debit or credit card with them ever again. Not really sure I will ever see

my money again either.

I have no complaints about the store.

I love to shop there. I'm just frustrated with the timeframe

of my refund.

Want a simple answer

Cannot get a simple yes/no answer from Ulta. They are requiring customers to give out phone numbers in order to qualify for rewards program. My question to two Ulta reps: Does Ulta sell customer phone numbers to other companies? Cannot get a simple yes/no answer. Have been referred to company policy (in small type) but do not see any policy regarding what they do with customer phone numbers. If they do, they should make it clear to customers before they agree to participate in the rewards program. Being harassed by telemarketers might not be worth the Ulta reward points! This website is requiring more words be entered in details box, but there are no more necessary details to give!

I'm really confused about why Ulta would send out an email with a subject line saying, "Just For You: $79.99 Off One Dyson Blow Dryer, yes really!", but then when I open the email and scroll down I see a message that says, "Sorry! This offer is not available." When I click on the link to print/view the coupon, I get the same message. Why on earth would they send out such an email for a highly coveted item, and then basically recant their offer at the same time? This makes no sense and makes me want to stop giving them my business. I could just go buy a Dyson hair dryer from Sephora with my VIB Rouge discount instead.

I got that same email, too and they did send out another one with the correct coupon. I'm a VIB Rouge as well, I'm not aware of any discount for VIBR in Sephora.

...I got a voicemail from a number supposedly in NORWAY: +47 432. That phone number is not long enough to be from Norway.

I couldn't call back with a number like that. ___________________________________________________________ Since I called within 30-60 minutes, I would have expected that they could cancel the order. The customer service rep couldn't CHANGE the order, The caller stated that ulta did not cancel orders. She said she would cancel the order.

I've since read their policy. They must be the only American company which doesn't change orders or cancel orders.

Too bad the whole world is not like Amazon. I will never be a customer of Ulta again.

I got cancelled twice on orders i did (same products, different times), and when i sent an emal asking why i got cancelled they replied that they reserved the right the revoke someone's ability to shop online because of infrigement of their terms and conditions. Until now I don't know what I did for that.

I went to browse the terms and conditions but did not offer much information as well.

Too bad the product i want is only sold at Ulta (cannot even find anywhere else), I take all of this as a sign to not buy the products and to never shop at Ulta again

I like the convenience of ordering online. So I had sent 3 orders online but cancelled one due to an error. Then I get an email that all 3 orders were cancelled. I called customer service to find out what happened and I was told that I can no longer order online. I am being banned now from ordering online for cancelling? And I was also told that if I needed anything, I would have to go to the store and buy it. No thank you! I was a good customer and I frequently visited your store in the past...I did not deserve this kind of treatment from Ulta. Ulta, you just lost 1 customer. I will now be shopping somewhere else...where service online and in-store is excellent.

Their reply to me after both my orders were cancelled was that they had the right to revoke someone's ability to shop online due to infrigement of terms and conditions. Till now I still don't know how I have done it.

I've browsed their T&C and haven't found reasons for it.

Too bad that the product I wanted can only be purchased online at Ulta and not on other sites.

I'll take this whole experience as a sign to not buy the product and to not shop at Ulta
