I love the products at Ulta, but part of going to a store like that you expect SERVICE and knowledge and help. I am getting married in 9 days, I go in on my lunch break to the Short Pump location in VA.

NOT ONE cosmetic consultant on the floor or available. A clerk who was stocking the shelves was 0 help. I GOT NO HELP WHATSOEVER. WORTHLESS employees there, saw another lady ask another worthless employee help about shampoo...she looked at her like a bump on a log and said, I DON'T KNOW.

The people there are so *** and not helpful. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO THERE.

I won't be returning again. This IS NOT the first time I've been there and experienced the employees being worthless, ignoring customers that need help, or not staffed well enough..not that it would matter with a whole bunch of idiots running around NOT helping people.

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Ulta employees do not receive training. Make minimum or low wages for cosmetics industry, no Sick time, paid time off, or vacation.

Ulta standard is one cashier and one manager, bare minimum staffing. Most employees work under 20 hrs.

I was appalled when I found out they don't wash makeup brushes nightly, sanitize properly, was told by district manager to put slightly used returned items REWRAPPED and back on shelf instead of damaging them!!!!!!! GROSS!

Calling people worthless makes me wonder are you even old enough to be married, I feel sorry for your future husband. Also before you go around calling anyone idiots learn how to properly separate sentences, when separating sentences use two spaces instead of one.

I used to work at Ulta. The stockers and cashiers receive absolutely no product training.

The only training they get is how to work the cash register or unload and display the items. So, of course a minimum wage employee with no training won't be a great source of info about the products. They aren't paid to know or care.

That's what the internet and being a grown adult who can research products and make decisions for yourself is for. Try it sometime.

Ulta pays their employees more than sephora.

Salary information at Glassdoor dot com shows otherwise.

Well, honestly, employees at Ulta apparently aren't paid very well from what I've learned about reading job reviews. People getting paid ***, care as much as ***.

Sephora and MAC are better at paying/treating employees well, so you'll probably get more thoughtful service from one of those places.

It's like Ulta employees think "well, I could be working here or at the dollar store. Same difference."
